How can we transform patient visits from arrival to check-out and help doctors and medical staff be more efficient?
USER JOURNEY ANIMATION
INITIAL LOGO EXPLORATION
Presented a variety of approaches for the logo. We moved towards a calmed blue and spelling out the product "VMA" with no sharp edges to stay away from and aggressive mood.
BROCHURE DESIGN
I wanted to transform all this content into a visual story through out the catalog of what the product experience was all about.
PERSONAS
Dr. Ocampo
Age: 54
Location: Dallas, TX
Occupation: Doctor
BIO
Dr. Smith is one of the busiest doctors in the clinic. He is known for being very friendly towards patients and chatting so he takes his time with each even though he always has a full agenda. Most of his visits are mid-age and elderly patients just looking for a general checkout to see how they are doing in regards to their health. Each visit usually does not go longer than 30 minutes which means Dr. Smith has to be always going from room to room ready to see the next patient and accessing their medical records and history.
FRUSTRATIONS
-Having to always go to front-desk and ask where he has to go next and for the patient's information.
-Having to manually update patient's information and get papers from each patient.
GOALS
-Being able to spend more time with patients without rushing much.
"I feel that with today's technology organization in the clinic can be smoother and I could focus more on patients"
DESIGN OPPORTUNITIES
How can we alert Dr. Ocampo of where to go next without having him approach front-desk every time?
Can we have all patient information in an app Dr. Ocampo can access and update while with patient?
Alicia Rivers
Age: 30
Location: Dallas, TX
Occupation: Front-Desk Medical Receptionist
BIO
Alicia is a very social and charismatic woman. She is very welcoming to patients and extremely organized. She is constantly multi-tasking by keeping track of files, interacting with clients in person and on the phone and also assisting doctors in the clinic to where they have to go next. Alicia is the most tech-savy in the clinic an usually one of the last persons to leave the clinic.
FRUSTRATIONS
-Dealing with files and keeping track in her head of patients waiting and their information.
-Trying to meet all doctors and patients times.
GOALS
-Make everything run smoothly and have patients satisfied.
"Sometimes I need to multiply myself! Clients constantly ask about how much longer they need to wait"
DESIGN OPPORTUNITIES
Can we incorporate ways to inform Alicia of patients that just got to the clinic and their waiting times?
Can the system have all the patient's appointment information automatically set?
Can we make it easy to modify patients' status and room assignment?
Mr. Ferguson
Age: 64
Location: Houston, TX
Occupation: Restaurant owner and cook.
BIO
Mr. Ferguson runs a family business and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren. He is in good health conditions except some high cholesterol levels so he goes to see Dr. Ocampo almost every month for a checkout. He usually calls and schedules a visit with Alicia. He is already known in the clinic and is always before time of his appointment's time so he gets easily frustrating when waiting for too long.
FRUSTRATIONS
-Waiting for too long for his usual checkout.
-Not having anything to do while waiting.
GOALS
-Less waiting.
"I just make sure everything is okay with me and everyone in the clinic is always very nice but I do not like to miss much of my time as I have a restaurant to run"
DESIGN OPPORTUNITIES
Can we provide Mr. Ferguson with follow-ups on time and his appointment?
Can we entertain him with valuable information or games while he waits?
